Not a great night

I think I was in the minority as most fans seemed enthralled about the performance. Umphree has great players, especially rhythmic ones, but they often, and purposefully play against each other for way too long and only come back together for short segments. Sure it is edgy but too often seems dissonant. The lead guitar lacked its own sound and style just speed and technical skill, sometimes music should not just pound you into submission but also thrill you and take you to a transcendent place. Yes they pounded but they did not make me feel the many emotions that live music can bring. String Cheese, Twiddle and Disco Biscuits did and UM didn't.
